I’m going to BritMums Live!

Kate Limburn, Baby Routes

After missing two years on the trot, I will finally be winging my way to BritMums Live. I’ve heard wonderful things about it and hoping that at last I might get to finally put a face to some of those inspirational ladies and gents of the bloggersphere that I connect with so often online. I’ve left it late to get involved with the linky   – this summer seems to be such a non-stop whirlwind of activity already!  So without further ado, here is a bit more about me. Can’t wait to meet lots of you lovely lot and get stuck in to some fantastic sounding sessions.

Name: Kate Limburn

Blog: Baby Routes  – I blog about adventurous family travel, getting kids back to nature and enjoying the great outdoors. I have built up a large collection of family friendly walks across the UK and beyond, including maps, directions and everything you need to know so take a look if you enjoy walking in nature with your kids!

Twitter ID: @babyroutes . You can find me on Facebook too.

Height: 5’9″ – I think… tall enough that wearing high heels is awesome for gigs but comes at the price of making me feel a bit like a giraffe.

Hair: Brown shoulder length bob. Well, it will be if I manage to make it to the hairdresser this week anyway!

Eyes: Blue

Is this your first blogging conference? No, it’s my second but my first time at BritMums Live.

Are you attending both days? Yes! I intend to make the most out of what sounds like a brilliant two days and a rare chance to get away by myself.

What are you most looking forward to at BritMums Live 2015? So many things! I’m never one to miss a good stroll so I’m thrilled the day is starting with a walk along one of my favourite places to wander in London. Look for me there! Also looking forward to: checking in on the travel blogging session and hopefully having not booked too many flights by the end of it; getting a boost of motivation to get my social media presence buzzing, finding out about the leap from blogger to writer…so many great sessions! Best of all though, I hope to link up with some other great bloggers so that this time next year I won’t be feeling like quite such a retiring wall-flower.

Natural Habitat: Up a mountain, in a field or on a plane somewhere exciting. This was taken on Skye -such a spectacular place to go hiking.

What are you wearing? The fact that this is a question worries me. This is the girl who has to be made to stay out shopping by her husband until she’s got everything she went for (because the old things were falling apart). I go barefaced and wild-haired most days and love slouching about in hiking, yoga, sporty clothes and jeans. I also love smokey eyes, bold scarlet lipstick and glitzy dresses (can’t remember the last time I go to wear one though). Sadly, I have a very poor grasp on anything in between, probably because I’d much rather spend my money at the garden centre…

I’ll be the one sloping around in my old work clothes for want of other ideas. Send help please! Seriously, if anyone can tell me how we are supposed to go for a walk at lunchtime and then party at night without going home to change, I will be eternally grateful.

What do you hope to gain from BritMums Live 2015? Plenty of inspiration, motivation and some new friends!

Do you have any tips to pass on to others who may not have been before? I’m a newbie to BritMums Live so I’m the one needing the tips!

So that’s me. Please come and say hello if you see me around at BritMums Live – it would great to meet you. Please leave a comment too or give me  shout out on Twitter or Facebook if you’re going. I’d love to know there are some friendly faces to look out for on the day.
