About the walks…
At Baby Routes we are always trying out new family-friendly walking routes. Our walks have taken us all across the UK, Europe and world-wide!
Take a look at the map above for inspiration by location or feel free to browse walking routes by region below. Each regional page also includes a list of useful links to other external walking resources that you might find useful.
The walks listed have all been personally tested. They vary from very short circuits suitable for toddlers and pushchair-friendly routes to themed strolls and longer, more challenging wanders suitable for older children. Each route contains details of age/ability suitability, child friendly features and things to be aware of before you set off.
Baby Routes is primarily aimed at families but are also great for anyone looking for a more sociable stroll with handy info on refreshment stops and accessibility. And personally I don’t think you’re ever too old for paddling or Pooh sticks!
As just one family of walkers, we are are only able to walk a limited number of footpaths each year. Please do check comments at the bottom of each walk for the latest route updates from other hikers. Be aware that footpath terrain, conditions and access does change over time. It is always advisable to take an up-to-date paper walking map with you.
Bus routes and timetables also have an annoying habit of getting out of date fast, so do check a travel planner before you leave home. I’ve tried as far as possible to record hazards, access and other safety features on the routes but ultimately undertaking any of the routes listed on Baby Routes or linked walking websites is at your own risk. Please be safe!
If you have hiked one of these routes, I’d love your feedback so I can continue to improve the site and so other walkers can benefit from your experience. You can send me an email, comment on walk pages or leave a walk rating.
