There is plenty of variety on offer and all within easy reaching distance of London, making the county a popular destination with weekend visitors escaping the Big Smoke. Although areas of the Chiltern Hills can pose a challenging incline or two, most of the walking in Buckinghamshire is fairly gentle and interspersed regularly with good pubs and refreshment opportunities making this a perfect place to get out in the countryside with kids.
